SSAA Newcastle Range will be OPEN for General Admission on ANZAC DAY - 25th April
from 10 am to 2 pm
using 22LR Rimfire ONLY using Standard or Subsonic Ammunition - BBQ Provided.

SSAA Newcastle Rangle will be OPEN for General Admission on Saturday 27th April and CLOSED on Sunday 28th April.

Centrefire "Light" Class Rifle "Group" shot at 100 Yards

ALL Pistol activity is cancelled until further Notice.

The SSAA Newcastle Branch Committee have decided to increase the Range fees from the 6th January 2024.

Member Fees From $10 to $12
Non Member Fees from $25 to $30
Member Pensioners $10 (no increase).

Firearms Safety Courses from $70 to $80 with Juniors at No Charge (was $30).

Range Approval - SSAA Big Game Rifle
In the spirit of the SSAA Big Game Rifle rules and wanting to make sure that under no circumstances do we exceed our Range Template or the Range Danger Area we have decided to limit ammunition/cartridges under SSAA Big Game Rifle.
We have never been allowed to shoot high intensity cartridges at the Range. This has again been confirmed recently by Firearms Registry.
Please refer to the list of prohibited cartridges via this link.
PLEASE NOTE - If an individual wishes to shoot calibers between 8mm and .577” this indicates that they wish to shoot SSAA Big Game Rifle competition and therefore must have Target as a genuine reason on their shooters license.

Interested in learning to shoot?

In NSW you must have a genuine reason to obtain a Firearm License. The categories here can be Sport/target shooting, Recreational hunting/Vermin Control or Firearms Collection. Target shooters & Collectors have to be members of a Club, hunters do not need to be a member of a club, but can be if they wish.
