Collectors Club Meeting September

Meeting was very well attended with several people bringing along items for discussion. 

Brett showed an inert, reproduction .303” Pomeroy round in a correctly headstamped cartridge. The "Cartridge S.A. Ball .303 inch PSA (VIIAA) Mark II" was used by the Royal Flying Corps against German Zeppelins during WW1. It was designed to deal more damage to the enemy airships than what standard .303” Ball rounds would have. Brett’s example is a high-quality, inert reproduction that is stamped “Repro Proj” on the projectile to reflect its status. 

Rhys and Dan presented an array of Swedish Mauser rifles and associated paraphernalia, including an M96 manufactured in 1917, an M96/38 manufactured in 1901 and converted around 1940 and a purpose-built M38 short rifle. Some of the supporting items included an M1910 leather bandolier, M26 helmet, several clips from different manufacturers, several bayonets with both Enlisted and Officers frogs, a bayonet scabbard retaining clip (for training), an original Swedish Army 6.5mm M41 ammunition packet, a 1944 Tva Öre (2 Ore) coin, two types of Swedish Army oiler and a Swedish Army Marksmanship Badge that features two crossed M38 short rifles.
