SSAA Newcastle Military Shoot - Saturday 5th July

Competition running this Saturday the 5th of July.

The competition will run depending on available Range Officers .

Please notify the Sign-In Range Officer at the office counter in the morning WHEN YOU SIGN IN.

Open to any 'Bolt Action Centrefire Military Rifle up to and including WW2', with as-issued sights - NO Scopes, in original as-issued caliber.

Full-wood i.e.-not “sportified” rifles with range rifle-style aperture sights (peep) WILL BE ALLOWED.

“sportified” rifles with aperture or iron sights are invited to join the shoot as guests, but scores will not be officially recognised.

PLEASE NOTE ; this is a semi-serious FUN shoot designed for the military rifle enthusiast to shoot their old bangers.

The rules are set up to allow participation for all ages and skill (or lack of skill).

Supervised minors are welcome.

The 'Military Shoot' will start at 9.00am following the format of 

• 2 x 3 Shot Volleys of RAPID FIRE at 25m (15 seconds per volley)
• 2 x 5 Shot Slow Fire OFF HAND at 50m (timed 15mins)
• 2 x 5 Shot Slow Fire off of the BENCH  or RANGE POLE at 100y (timed 15mins)

Entry fee of $3.00 for the match, nominations by 8.30am on the day.

Targets will be provided.

The competition will be held at FIELD RIFLE END, SSAA Newcastle Range.

Ask for the supervising Range Officer.
