Collector's Club Meeting April
5th April 2025
The meeting was very well attended.
Several members brought items to discuss.
Lochy showed a very rare and excellent condition Arisaka paratrooper rifle:
- The rifle is in 7.7 x 58 rimless.
- It is a take-down model where the barrel and forend are removed with a simple screw and wedge arrangement.
- This allows the rifle to be stowed in the jumpers kit and quickly re-assembled on landing.
- The bore is chrome-lined and in exceptional condition, as are the stock and metal parts.
- The MOM has been removed, which indicates a surrendered rifle.
Scott showed an Enfield No 8 .22 cal training rifle:
- The rifle is New Zealand marked and a naval issue.
- These rifles are extremely accurate.
- The rifle is in exceptional condition.
Scott also displayed a Chinese made Mosin Nagant carbine:
- The carbine has Chinese ownership markings and date stamped 1955.
- Possibly a Korean or Vietnam war bring back.
- The carbine is in 7.62 x 54 Rimmed caliber.
- It has a very good bore and the captive bayonet is still attached.
Thanks to all who attended.
Next meeting will be held on 5th may.
Visitors and members welcome.
