Collector Club Meeting
4th February 2025
The first collectors meeting was held for 2025.
Alex showed 2 rare air rifles.
One was a very unusual "WASP" brand.
- The lever to cock is a complicated toggle arrangement which is mounted below the butt.
- Believed to be circa 1930 and a gallery gun i.e. meant for close range target shooting inside the house.... look out for the cat!!!
The second air rifle was also unusual.
- It is a bolt-operated gun in very good condition.
- The bolt cocks the gun and loads the pellet.
- It is modelled on a Mauser 43.
- This rifle has a small magazine (missing) but will soon be replaced. The rifle, according to the BLUE BOOK OF AIR RIFLES, was sold by several brands, like Anchutz. It is very rare to find one outside the old Soviet Bloc.... amazing what is out there!!
Thanks to all who attended.
Regards,
Gary
